KUTZTOWN FOOL’S RUN OPENS WITH MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR RUNNER
WHO COLLAPSED DURING 2012 RACE
Hello! I loved the race today! It was my favorite race I have ran! It was my fastest too. I felt a certain amount of inner strength today and when I spoke to my daughter after the race she noticed that our race numbers surrounded #128. Avery was 127 and I was 129...I have a feeling that Robert Focht was with us. Avery told me she ran this 5k all the way without walking...she usually walks some of her races. I felt today was a spiritual day for my daughter and I as ran the town and campus where I studied to be teacher. Moreover, I think a special man was with my daughter and I as we ran our races. The day was beautiful and I feel Mr.Focht's amazing "running" spirit was with us today. Welcome to the official Website of the Kutztown Fools’ Run. Management of the Fools’ Run was transferred to the highly motivated individuals of the Kutztown Optimist Club in August 2006. This site was developed to provide complete details on the race, including information on registration, sponsorships, results, course maps and more. Please be sure to visit often as the next phase of this Berks Country “running classic” unfolds.
Mission
Once again, this year’s event’s proceeds will support the Optimist Club of Kutztown and the Donald Peters Memorial Scholarship Fund. Through support of our sponsors and the running community, the Optimist Club of Kutztown will continue to provide scholarship assistance to the most promising and deserving students in the Kutztown Area, Brandywine Heights, and Fleetwood Area School Districts. The entire Fools’ Run family welcomes your participation in this year’s event. We wish you the best as you prepare for and compete in one of the area’s finest road races.

Directions
From Allentown/NJ:
78/U.S. 22 West to PA 737 South. Follow 737 five miles to first light. Right on Main Street. Right onto Whiteoak Street.(2nd light). Proceed about 4 blocks. Left into Kutztown Fair-grounds parking area and follow signs on foot to Beltzner Hall.
From Philadelphia:
I-476 (NE Extension of PA Turnpike) to Lehigh Valley exit (exit 56). Follow directions from Allentown/NJ. above.
From Lancaster/Reading:
U.S.222 North to Kutztown Exit. Turn left on Whiteoak Street (3rd light) Proceed about 4 blocks. Left into Kutztown Fairgrounds parking area and follow signs on foot to Beltzner Hall.
